This replaces the standard knob on the 500C, 500C/M and 503CX. It contains a selenium cell exposure meter. This is a very useful and durable accessory. The meter does not take any batteries – so nothing to go flat, leak or corrode.
When mounted to the camera it will operate in a ‘reflective mode’. It can also be used as an ‘incident’ meter by engaging the translucent cover.
Very early serial number – 00083. Hardly been used.
Condition details:
Cosmetic: Light surface wear to the exterior.
Electrical: Meter is working and responds well to light. Based upon our own checks it will be accurate enough for black and white, or colour negative, but we would not recommend using it with slide. The readings we took were within half or one stop of our own modern Sekonic meter.
