This lens was first made in 1962, replacing the previous 5.8cm f1.4 lens.
This is the second variant of this lens, with the scalloped aperture ring and amber lens coating. It is marked ‘Noppon Kogako’, rather than ‘Nikon’.
Condition details:
Cosmetic: Heavy wear to the exterior. Ingrained dirt.
Optical: Poor. Lots of surface cleaning marks.
Mechanical: Stiff focusing controls.
Dust/Haze: A moderate amount of internal dust and haze which is visible in certain light. Image is unlikely to be affected.
Cosmetic Condition: 7
(Restorable. Minor parts missing and refinishing necessary. )
(Functioning. Shutter speeds not accurate and/or meter not accurate. Lens has marks that will affect image. Cleaning, lubricating and adjusting is desirable. )
