The Planar® lens is the most successful camera lens design ever created. This nearly symmetrical layout provides the lens designer with numerous means to correct aberrations extraordinarily well, even for wide open apertures. The ideal basis for high-performance lenses with great color correction, high speed, flat image plane (this is where the name comes from) and low distortion. The Planar® lens design is the basis for nearly all professional ’workhorse’ lenses on earth and in space today.

This ‘C’ lens is a modified ‘CF’ lens.
– It does not have the ‘F’ function for use with cameras that have a focal plane shutter (such as the 2000FC and 200 series camera). It will work perfectly on the 500C and 500C/M.
– The aperture and shutter controls are not connected.

Condition details:
Cosmetic: Almost no wear to the exterior. All the painted lettering is intact, which very often worn away. The black filter ring is largely unmarked. These suggests very light use.
Optical: The optics are excellent – free from all scratches, debris and fungus.
Mechanical: Shutter speeds are all working and accurate. Aperture blades are fast and free from oil.
Dust/Haze: A little internal dust and haze. This is typical and expected for a used lens of this age. Lens are not sealed units and will exchange are with the outside environment. Image will not be affected.
