A complete Sinar c 4x5 outfit in its original fitted Sinar case. The c is Sinar's clever combination camera: the p-type rear standard, with its geared, asymmetric yaw-free tilt and swing, married to the lighter f-type front standard. Sinar's reasoning was sound - on a view camera the rear standard is where the movements really earn their keep, controlling the plane of focus and the shape of the subject, while the front mostly needs rise, fall and a modest tilt. Putting the money into the back gives you most of what a p can do at a fraction of what a p costs, and that is still true on the used market today. Supplied here as a working outfit: front and rear standards on the monorail, bellows, the gridded ground glass screen for lining up architecture and copy work, and the rail clamp for mounting to a tripod. It packs into the original Sinar fitted case, which still has the factory setup diagram inside the lid. Being a Sinar, it is entirely modular - bellows, bag bellows, rail extensions, format-changing frames, film backs, lens boards and the Sinar shutter system all fit, so it can be built up in any direction you like.
