Haitink's 1993 EMI recording of Britten's cornerstone English opera features a stellar cast: Anthony Rolfe Johnson's gripping Grimes, Thomas Allen's commanding Balstrode, Felicity Lott's luminous Ellen Orford, and a young Simon Keenlyside. John Kurlander's engineering delivers a richly detailed soundstage. A compelling modern alternative to the classic Britten/Pears Decca, and an ideal entry point to one of the 20th century's greatest operas.

This is a used CD. The disc and case have been inspected and are in good condition. Broken or damaged jewel cases will be replaced before dispatch.
