Short Description

Franz Berwald (Composed By), Ulf Björlin (Conductor), Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (Orchestra) (EMI Classics)

Description

A rare chance to explore Berwald's four symphonies — quirky, forward-looking works from a criminally underrated Scandinavian Romantic. Ulf Björlin conducts with idiomatic Swedish authority, and the Royal Philharmonic responds with polish and commitment. EMI Classics' transparent engineering does full justice to Berwald's distinctive voice — an ideal entry point for collectors venturing beyond the Austro-German repertoire.

This is a used CD. The disc and case have been inspected and are in good condition. Broken or damaged jewel cases will be replaced before dispatch.
