Description

Riccardo Chailly's acclaimed Brahms cycle with the Royal Concertgebouw brings fresh ears to these symphonic cornerstones, applying Brahms's own metronome markings for leaner, more urgent readings that challenge the grand Romantic tradition. The Concertgebouw's storied Brahms lineage and legendary Grote Zaal acoustic shine through Decca's superlative engineering. A compelling modern alternative to the established classics.
